Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
HAPPPPPPY DECEMBER TO YOU!
I’m coming out of a week of feeling like death, and you know how you don’t realize how good you normally feel until you get sick? That’s me today. I can breathe through my nose again, and am considering throwing a parade in celebration.
Anyway, I’m in FULL Christmas mode now, including starting to buy Christmas gifts.
Now, a little pre-shopping chat: Christmas is not about gifts. Hopefully you know this, but just in case you needed someone to tell you: Christmas is not about how many presents you can buy. You do not need to buy presents for everyone in your life. If you don’t have the money this year, don’t go into debt over things. Bake someone some cookies and write a heartfelt letter. If they love you, they’ll love it. Please don’t mistake a list of gift ideas as a “you better be buying gifts for everyone in your life no matter what!” The fact is, gifts are a part of Christmas for a lot of us, so I wanted to share some ideas I had. But you don’t have to spend tons of money to make someone you love happy at Christmas. Okay, that’s all!
To me, a good gift is one of two things: A useful thing someone wouldn’t have thought to buy themselves (like a portable espresso maker so you can get caffeinated on the go ($49), or a digital tape measurer so you don’t have to guess which little tick you landed on $(30), OR, something that someone would love, but it’s a not a need, so they wouldn’t have bought it for themselves (like a cozy robe ($32) or a next level bath pillow ($30). So those are the kind of gifts I’ve tried to line up!

GIFTS FOR HER || My favorites: these makeup brushes that have mermaid tails ($10), and a set of 9 pairs of acrylic earrings (easily split up into several gifts for friends!) ($15).
GIFTS FOR HIM || My favorites: the tile sport, which you attach to things you’re constantly losing so you can find them easily. Keys! Phone! Luggage! Actually, think I may need this. ($19) and a hot sauce making kit because that just sounds fun ($48).
Side note: I know gifts don’t have genders. Buy whoever you want whatever you want! This was just made in mind with the hims and hers in my life.
GIFTS FOR ANYONE aka, you got invited to a party and should bring a gift, or you drew your coworkers name in the gift exchange and you don’t know them that well. These’ll work. || My favorites: A spiced olive oil variety pack ($25) or a wooden candy dish in the shape of their initial ($20).
GIFTS UNDER $10. || My favorites: This set of silicone reusable straws ($9), this keychain that has both a Phillips and a flat head screwdriver on it ($8). I don’t know if it’s that I have a kid now or what, but I find myself needing a screwdriver in lots of random situations, and this would help ha!
GIFTS UNDER $25. || My favorites: This gourmet truffle hot sauce that I’m pretty sure makes you a professional chef ($18) and this letter board that has a bunch of color options! ($21)
GIFTS UNDER $50. || My favorites: This charcuterie board that comes with an array of cheese knifes and serving forks ($47) and this heated deep tissue neck massager ($39).
FUNNY GIFTS. || My favorites: All of them! But especially this running, jumping, alarm clock on wheels for the heavy sleeper in your life ($40) and this throw pillow with a special surprise for fans of The Office ($10).

SUCH GOOD GIFT IDEAS. Marking the reusable straws and letter board for later. I love the idea of getting a gift that someone wouldn’t buy for themselves. I just bought Ryan a pack of Bombas socks for his birthday (hopefully he doesn’t creep on where I comment…ha!) – I know he’d never buy them for himself bc they’re so expensive for socks, but I’ve heard such great things! It’s fun to do something like that for the people you love.
The most fun list!! Glad you’re feeling better!
Glad you’re feeling better! I’m coming off a nasty cold too, and it’s so true you never truly appreciate how good you feel on normal days until you’ve been sick. I have those reusable straws on my wish list, and will pick them up myself if no one else does <3

Ummmm, best leadup for a gift guide ever: thank you for reminding us that it’s not ACTUALLY about the gifts (but then giving us really great gift ideas in case we do go down that route). Gah. Love you.
