Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
What is it? Intentionally finishing the last 90 days of the year as strong as we tend to start off a new year. You do this by focusing on five things: Waking up an hour earlier, drinking half your body weight in water, move your body for 3o minutes each day, write down 5 things you’re grateful for, and give up a food you know you shouldn’t be eating.
I did this last year, and while I didn’t successfully do 90 full days, it was still life-changing for me. This year, I’m choosing to modify it based on my needs. Here’s how:
Why I modify: I’m bad at sleeping. Always have been. One of my clearest memories from kindergarten is laying down in the dark the entire nap time, wondering how everyone else fell asleep during the day. So I don’t sleep great at night, and I wake up way too early. Cutting out an hour of sleep isn’t healthy for me. How I modify: I make sure that I have an hour set aside each day that I spend on myself. The point of waking up an hour earlier is so you can intentionally spend time on yourself. I still do this, just without the early wakeup.
Why I modify: That’s not enough water for me. Plain and simple. How I modify: I drink a gallon of water a day.
No modifications here! Just gotta do it!
No modifications, but I have to say – this was probably the most life changing part of the challenge for me last year. It has to be something from that day, and it truly changed my perspective. I found myself going through the day, actively looking for things to add to my list.
Why I modify: I’m not a fan of completely cutting something out that you enjoy unless A) It is harmful to your body, or B) You are addicted to it in a way that brings you harm. I don’t have any foods like that in my life. How I modify: I add something in instead. I drink a green smoothie every single day for 90 days. Yes, on the weekends. Yes, on vacation. Yes, on the holidays. I feel insanely better when I drink these, so 90 days in a row of them should be incredible.
I didn’t make it the full 90 days last year – there were lots of missed days. And it still changed my life. Why? Because it’s about being intentional for yourself. It’s about showing up for yourself whether you feel like it or not. It’s about starting off 2020 already feeling good instead of feeling terrible and frazzled and needing a complete reset. And trust me – you can modify it to work for you.
I think modifying it in this way sets me up for success, and I’m so looking forward to doing the full 90 days in a row this year. Cheers to taking the time to work on ourselves – we’re worth it.

I love the way you have modified this to fit your needs, such a great idea. I also feel SO much better when I start the day with a green smoothie, it’s life changing!
RIGHT?! Makes me feel so good to start the day on such a healthy note!!
I love your modifications! Those are things I could actually do.
That’s my goal – to make it doable enough that I actually do it!
I so love this. I have small modifications too, and I really need to work on my weekends — I do pretty good with stuff throughout the week and the weekend comes … and I lay around, watch football, drink way too much coffee, and put in a grocery order. Not bad, but I feel like I could use my weekend better. 🙂
Girl, same! I’m trying to find the balance of resting on weekends but also being smart with my time!
This is so so smart! I mean the hour earlier thing is a bit much for me because goodness do I need my sleep but I like your modification! Here’s to the last 90 days!!
Same! No way can I afford to give that hour up right now haha!
These are incredible goals, realistic and healthy modifications, and a great challenge to DO BETTER! Love this and love you!!!!
LOVE YOU MORE!!!
Does it count if I walk 1.5 miles at work? Can that count as my exercise? I say yes. 🤪
TOTALLY counts!!
