Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
This week feels very strange.
Two weeks ago, we were preparing for a really horrible natural disaster – which we felt very minimal effects of. And of course, I’m so relieved about that. But it feels so weird to feel relieved when just a few hours away, there’s just complete devastation. So much of Florida will never be the same, and I’m heartbroken for that.
Last week, I woke up to the most beautiful weather. I got to wear a hoodie. I got to do school drop off with Jack and we listened to a Halloween playlist on the way there. He danced the whole time. How beautiful.
And today I’m home, drinking coffee and texting a friend who’s neighborhood is destroyed, who’s city will never be the same after last week. Texting a family member about how sad a lot of things have been recently, how we didn’t expect things to go this way. How broken.
We’ve entered the last three months of the year, and as much as I adore summer, these are my favorite months of the year. Crafts and treats and chilly weather. Holiday parties and fun clothes and presents. Spooky season and Christmas cookies. The end of the year, the best of the year.
I’m so happy. I’m also really sad. I can’t wait. I’m also really stressed. It’s the best time of year. It can also be really hard.
How beautiful.
How broken.
But I know this – what a gift to be alive, to be breathing, to get to experience another one of my favorite seasons. To hear Jack sing all the Halloween songs, to pick out costumes, to make crafts, to make Christmas lists. All of it, a gift. And truly, I just want to enjoy it.
So that’s what I think we should do.
The rest of the year, the best of the year. Let’s enjoy.

It is so sad to see all the devastation in Florida. I am glad you guys didn’t see much of it in your area. I definitely love this time of the year more than any other. The last three months are always a blur and I want to slow down and enjoy as much of it as I can.
you and me both!!
Let’s enjoy despite. Let’s enjoy in the face of.
The delicate tension of living and feeling so many things at once.
Great reminder.
So well said. Trying my best!
I feel this so deeply. So much beauty and brokenness. I love this time of year, but there’s a looming sadness. A melancholy that also deserves a little attention and respect. The beautiful things shine brighter when they’re beside the broken.
YES to all of this! As we just got through another storm pretty unscathed, I am filled with thankfulness. I have an overwhelming feeling of sadness as well, but also so much hope. Sending lots of love your way this season <3
