Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
At the beginning of the year, I decided a fun way to capture memories would be to roundup the bright spots at the end of each month.
What a weird time to be typing out a list of bright spots.
I am normally the very definition of an eternal optimist, always looking for the good. But not so much right now, and that’s okay. If you don’t want to look at the bright side right now, it’s okay. It is so okay to need to sit in your sad, overwhelmed, scared feelings for a bit. I certainly have.
At the same time, I want to keep my promise to myself to record the month’s bright spots, even if they’re a little harder to think of right now. So:
Jack discovered goggles. You’re so welcome.
Due to all the extra time I’m spending outside, my tan is the best it’s ever been.
I’ve had lots of good reading time.
I decided to use the quarantine to start a new skincare routine from The Ordinary (so cheap!) and I’m loving it so far.
Speaking of skin, I went two weeks without makeup and my face really seemed to appreciate it.
I’ve had lots of unexpected time with my family.
I’ve had 6 feet apart front yard hangs with my neighbor.
Jack saw his first rocket launch. He proceeded to scream, “3 – 2 – 1, BLASTOFF!” He has since been asking for one every day, and also asking why he can’t go to the moon, so things are going well.
I’m realizing that I’m subconsciously separating what’s important and what’s not, what makes me happy and what doesn’t, and, best of all: CARING WAY LESS what anyone thinks about it. Because listen, the world is on fire, I don’t have time to worry about if you like me or not.
If you want, tell me a bright spot from your month. If not, tell me something that sucks. Here for you for both!
xo, Chelsea

Jack in goggles is what we all need right now. What a total cutie!
Bright spot is this WEATHER! Whoo! Keep it up, SC.
I LOVE your eternal optimism and try to live life in the same way (though there has been some sitting in sadness lately). Cherry blossoms blooming in my neighborhood are one of my favorite bright spots lately.
Jack in goggles is everything. Honestly I’m just happy we’re all healthy over here. It’s been tough but we are lucky.
YES GIRL. Ryan and I have been talking about how things are really being put into perspective right now. I haven’t worn makeup in two weeks, and it feels phenomenal!
Plz plz let Jack listen to The Magic Tree House book #8, where they go to the moon. He will FREAK OUT. (Aiden listens to them on Hoopla/Libby during “rest time” a.k.a. “let mom finally eat her dang lunch and catch up on blogs time”
Your eternal optimism puts a smile on my face, especially when there are dark clouds in my head! Enjoy the sunshine and lots of days of Jack in goggles!!!!
“Because listen, the world is on fire, I don’t have time to worry about if you like me or not.”
Hell freaking yes. I agree.
Jack in goggles has made my morning so thank you for that. And too cool about the rocket launch!
You are the absolute best. Long may you reign, Queen 👑

Jack in goggles is so cute!
I also haven’t worn make up much in the 2 weeks in Lockdown and my skin feels great.
That last point on caring less what people think. YES to that. This hectic time has really put things into perspective for me.
I love that first part about not looking for the bright spots. I’ve been having really good days and really not-so-great days and I think it’s important to validate the not-so-great feelings too. Love you friend!
