Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Good morning! I love when I get to write these in the morning when I’m actually drinking my coffee, like today. I’m drinking my pumpkin spice way too early next to Jack, who is passed out next to me snoring like a grown man. My best friend crashed with us last night, so she’s sleeping next to him (less snoring from her, to her credit).
PS – friends that get dressed up and go out with you are fun and all, but friends that are cool with piling in bed with you and your kid and going to sleep at 8:30 are really where it’s at.
…I’d tell you that I’ve realized my favorite influencers I follow are the ones who aren’t shy about “real life” (aka they show behind the scenes of their hot mess express) and I’ve been trying to let that inspire me. I posted an attempted Amazon try-on (saved in my highlights – spoiler alert: Jack and Gatsby hijacked the show) and I got a better response to that than almost anything I’ve ever posted. It was kind of a lightbulb moment..like oh, we all like real life. So more of that around here!
…I’d tell you that I’m learning the importance of mini vacations. Sometimes that means getting away for 24 hours, and sometimes the means calling it a day at 7:00 and getting in bed with a book.
…But I’d also tell you that I have a *real* vacation coming up next week and I cannot wait. This also means I am taking book recommendations for the beach – send them on!
…I’d tell you my mom’s birthday is tomorrow! And while usually it’s my own birthday that makes me introspective, this year her’s is getting me in my feels. My family has had some really rough things happen over the last 12 months. It hurts my heart to think about how when we celebrated her birthday last year, we didn’t know what was coming. We didn’t know about the massive loss that was right around the corner, or the many gut-punches that were just laying in wait. BUT. We also didn’t know just how strong we’d all become, or the stories of goodness we’d be able to tell. Just between two birthdays – life is like that, you know?
…I’d tell you that Beautycounter released their holiday line in time for a fall refresh and WOW do I want it all. But this one is on its way to my house. It’s call the Glow Getters Trio (hi cutest name ever), and we all know I want to be glowing all the time. And ROSE GOLD HIGHLIGHTER?! Yes please.
Your turn! What’s new with you?

Happiest of Birthdays to your mama! It’s really absolutely nuts to think about all that can happen to us in a year. I hope you have an awesome vacation next week!! And I definitely loved the real life try on with Gatsby & Jack! Lol!!
Thanks, friend! It really is crazy. Haha Jack is absolutely stealing the show this week!!
So much life – good and bad – can happen in the span of a year. Here’s to a brighter road for your mama and all of you… And hurrah to a beach vacation, I could really use one too!
so true! really looking forward to this year! annnnd to the beach!!
Love you big, Chels!
love you back!!
I’ve been struggling to show the real side of things on social media (and am V excited for everything you post ever!!), especially when it involves hard things in the fam and how much I can/should share. You’ve walked that balance beautifully in sharing how strong your mama is, and I hope this next year is just as powerful as the last! Thanks for inspiring me, as always!
