Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
I burned myself all the way out the first half of this month, just trying to get all the things done. Here’s the thing: There are some months that you’re strong enough and full enough and in the right place to do all the things. And there are some months that you’re just not. And that’s okay! Your sanity is worth so much more than getting all the laundry done.
I touched on this in my instagram Friday, but it was a huge lesson for me this month so I’ll say it again here: A difficult year has taught me that little joys are EVERYTHING. They will sustain you and breathe life back into you.
In almost every single aspect in life. A crappy workout is better than no workout. A half-hearted writing session is better than not writing at all. Anything worth doing is worth doing well, of course. But sometimes the whole “do it well” thing is what we get stuck on, and we’ve just gotta do it.
This was said to me in therapy this month: “You’re trying to levitate out of an ocean of hard things, and that’s just not how it works. You’ve gotta swim through it.” GAHHH. As much as we (okay, I), want to skip over going through hard things (and levitate, apparently ha!), the only way out is through.
When my friends celebrate me, it makes me so happy. When I celebrate my friends, it makes me so happy. It’s a win-win to celebrate those you love. Call out their accomplishments. Send them flowers. Send congratulatory gifs. Celebrate, celebrate, celebrate.

I always look forward to reading your monthly lessons. The first one really resonated with me this time! This month my to-do list has felt SO long but it’s a good reminder that powering through is not always worth it.
I’m trying to remember that!! Thanks, friend!
Was just thinking about little joys this morning. Nothing better. Done is better than perfect is so hard for this perfectionist to learn!
gahh same. I’m not a perfectionist, but I’m so fast to make myself feel guilty for things not being done perfectly!
So many important things to remember in this post!
thanks friend!
