Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
I typically do not like thrillers that use things like mental illness or psychopathy as a plot line, however, this author is a psychologist, which made it not only accurate, but insanely interesting to me. This was a slow burn with a creepy build up that I loooooved. There was never a moment where I felt like I had the book figured out.
Should you read it? Yes!
This one was adorable, far-fetched, and implausible – but don’t we need to be sucked into a book like that every now and then? I loved it, and it would be a perfect beach or pool read for the summer!
Should you read it? Yes! Preferably in the sunshine with an icy Diet Coke in hand.
Harlan has yet to disappoint me with a book, and this one was no exception. Kept me guessing, kept me wondering who I should trust, and threw me for several loops before the last page. Classic Harlan, classic favorite.
Should you read it? It’s Harlan Coben. Of course you should.
I was sucked into this one right away and couldn’t put it down until I found out what happened. That said, the ending was a little lackluster for me. BUT, it was an anxiety-inducing ride until the end.
Should you read it? I’m still going with yes, because I love being sucked in to a good mystery.
This reminded me of Anxious People – Not for everyone, but if you love it, you’ll love it. I loved it. It made me feel sad and happy and longing and all of the emotions. When a fictional story can pull at me like that, it sticks with me.
Should you read it? Yes!
I’m torn on this one for only one reason – when I’m reading fictional books, I’m typically reading to escape real life. This book was excellent, but the subject matter it dealt with (sexual assault, cover ups, the #metoo movement) felt too real for me to enjoy it as a fictional story – does that make sense? It was very, very heavy.
Should you read it? Only if you go into it knowing what it’s about.
This kept me guessing, kept me wondering who was reliable and who was lying, and was an easy read. A great one to add to your summer reading list!
Should you read it? Yes!
So. Freaking. Beautiful. A raw story about mistakes and rebuilding and the impact that our choices have on not only the rest of our lives, but the people we love. Colleen Hoover does it again – are we surprised?
I have never been a ready of fantasy books, but one of my best friends recommended the first book in this series to me last year and I inhaled it. I loved getting lost in this book and the fantasy world, and the ENDING of this book. I screamed. Out loud. It was SUCH A GOOD ENDING.
Should you read it? If you’re opening to fantasy, yes!!
An all-too-well known coming of age plot, somehow made unique in it’s own way. It was tender and cringy and introspective and I never really knew what I wanted to happen or who I was rooting for. A very realistic look at what your late 20s are like as a female. It was incredibly well done, but it made me really sad.
Should you read it? If the above sounds like something you like, then yes! You’ve been warned.
No. Just, absolutely not. NO. There’s twisty and there’s twisted, and this was just too freakin’ twisted. In a gross way. I wish I had not read it.
Should you read it: NO.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading since 2021 because in 2020 I couldn’t bring myself to open a book. I was in shock with the rest of the world. Thanks for these recommendations. I’d definitely check these out. Especially My Darling Husband. Ugh, I can see myself sacrificing sleep just to figure out who did what and what happened. Lol!
I couldnt get into Never Saw Me Coming and ended up not finishing it…Anything by Colleen Hoover breaks me!!
Well with the exception of Feeney, it sounds like it was a great month! I’m going to have to check out that fantasy book. That used to be my favorite genre and I’ve gotten away from it in recent years.
Hey thanks for all the excellent reading suggestions and snippets I so need something to read.
