Hi, I'm Chelsea! Iām on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
The holiday season is funny, because it’s known for the hustle and bustle it brings. Yet, when we think of the holidays–Christmas, for example–we tend to think of a certain element of calm, serene peace that comes along with it.
As for me, I love it all. Every bit of it. I love the hustle and bustle, I love the peace and quiet.
I think one of the biggest things about enjoying the holidays is appreciating each day for what it is. It’s being content with your Christmas, no matter what it looks like. It’s soaking up the magic of every day, simply because it’s Christmas.
Not because it’s a perfectly planned day that turned our exactly how you imagined, though those are nice, too. But just because your day resembled more of a chaotic Black Friday and not so much of the quiet, peaceful, 5-course white and silver themed Christmas dinner you saw on Pinterest doesn’t mean it wasn’t a beautiful day.
Soak them all in. The loud, busy days of hustle and bustle and the sweet, slow days of peace and quiet. Love them for what they are. Even when the days you had planned to be quiet and peaceful turn hectic, and the days of celebration turn out much more quiet than you had planned, love them both. Because they are both a part of the holidays.
I’m enjoying them all. I’m enjoying the peaceful moments of drinking peppermint mocha coffee in front of the Christmas tree, and I’m enjoying the hectic moments of shopping and rushing around. I’m soaking it all in. The happy, the stressful, the quiet, the noise.
Because Christmas is magical simply because it’s Christmas.

How true this is! Beautiful perspective! š
This Christmas season is FLYING by! I need to remember to take some time every day just to enjoy it because it's going to be gone so soon!
Yes, it's flying by so quick. The moments at home at night are some of my favorite. Sitting by the tree and watching movies together is just as fun as any holiday party to me š
Absolutely!!! Thank you for the wonderful insight! =)

So beautiful and true. With all the busyness surrounding this beautiful season, I really need to step back and take it all in and enjoy it.
Have a fabulous week gurlie <3

I'm with you the hustle and bustle is great because there are pure moments of just enjoying this time thrown in too! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
You are so right – we should soak in all the joy and peace and chaos that Christmas brings. I love the serenity that the holiday brings, but I also love the craziness that ensues for Christmas parties, events, etc. I can't believe Christmas is only next week!
Your post speaks perfectly to my piece of mind right now. I love the crazy hustle and bustle and I love the quiet moments of hot cocoa in front of my tree.
A great perspective. I'm like you, I enjoy both. Although I don't feel like I've had much of the peace and quiet yet. There's still time though! I can't believe it's less than two weeks away!
I like both too. Usually I don't like to be super busy and running around, but there's something different about it when it's holiday busy-ness.
I have a part-time retail job and I think this lesson is well learned there. Some days are slow and I can bond and talk with my co-workers and some days are crazy with non-stop straightening and ringing people out and "Merry Christmas"es and coupons. But it's all enjoyable- the hustle and the calm š
"It's soaking up the magic of every day" I feel like we wrote extremely similar blogs posts (in different ways) today
I couldn't agree more. I find that I enjoy the holidays so much more when I appreciate each moment and try to reduce the stress. Sitting by the tree at nigh with all the lights off is my favorite, as is walking through a busy mall with Christmas carols and all the hustle and bustle! Each moment is pretty special and when it is gone I miss it, so I enjoy it now.
This post is something I needed to read today. I really struggle with having a schedule that is too full and crazy. But sometimes the hectic days make the calms days even better -I hope I can learn to love them both.
It always amazes me how chaotic the Christmas can be with all of the different parties and events to go to, and all of the prep that goes along with a holiday. Even though it's crazy, the hustle and bustle can be just as much fun as the calm of as a Christmas with just family. Glad you're taking the time to enjoy everything!
You are right, Christmas is such a hectic busy time, but then there is something so calm & peaceful about it. The twinkle of the lights, the cozy blankets & hot cocoa are things that calm me during this wild season.
Amazing post!
Have a nice evening!

We've had to mix some things up this year and I've been a bit disappointed in that… but, I told J today that I really wanted to soak it up and enjoy the next two weeks. So that's what we're going to do! It's so magical and goes by way too fast.
ah, I love this!! There's so many things to love about this season and I truly love some of the busier moments but also some of the quiet and thoughtful ones. I think the mix of the special, yet so different, moments is what really makes this so magical. Enjoy.

As stressful as this time can be with the extra shopping, parties and shuffling about I totally agree that it is also a time of peace. I live grabbing a hot cocoa and just sitting and watching a Xmas movie by the lit tree.
I am sometimes guilty of getting annoyed when hectic days don't go as planned, but you're right. It's so much better to just go with the flow and soak it all in! I love this.
Love the last line: "Christmas is magical simply because it's Christmas." I'm sure you're as excited as I am for our little ones to experience that magic!
this is such a lovely reminder. sometimes we get so caught up in being busy or making it perfect, we just need to sit back, relax, and soak it all in.
Yes. I feel like this is what i've really been working on this year. Our Christmas is going to be different than it has been my whole life, and I've really been working on accepting that and taking joy in what it IS going to be this year.
