Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Books have made being stuck at home so much better. I had a giant bag of random library books when everything shut down, and I’ve just been working my way through those, along with books my mom has shared with me. I’ve read too many to bore you with in depth reviews, so here’s just a snapshot about all I’ve read so far (ps-these are affiliate links – if you click them I will maybe make .02 cents):
Gonzo Girl by Cheryl Della Pietra
Read this if: You liked Daisy Jones and The Six // You like memoir -style novels // You like reading about authors and don’t mind a little (lot) of cocaine.
How to Walk Away by Katherine Center
Read this if: You need a feel good story // You love a beauty-from-ashes kind of story // You don’t mind a good bit of cheesiness.
You Are Not Alone by Sarah Pekkanen and Greer Hendricks
Read this if: You like a slow-burn thriller // You liked The Wife Between Us // You liked The Last Mrs. Parrish // *NOTE: Contains themes of sexual assault and suicide.
Fake Plastic Love by Kimberly Tait
Read this if: You’re a fan of The Great Gatsby // You like non-traditional love stories told from unique perspectives // You’re a fan of the whimsical.
The Last Resort by Marissa Stapley
Read this if: You like twisty, suspenseful books // you like stories with lots of characters (and their stories) // You like thrillers.
No Judgements by Meg Cabot
Read this if: You need a breezy, feel good book // You like reading about Florida // You’ve wondered how Floridians spend hurricanes.
Very Nice by Marcy Dermansky
Read this if: Don’t. Honestly. I almost quit it 4 times but the reviews were so good that I finished it. Do not recommend.
The Return by Rachel Harrison
Read this if: You like horror. I was under the impression this was a thriller…t’was not. It was paranormal horror and terrified me. So if you’re into that kinda thing, go for it.
Broken Stern by Jack Hardin
Read this if: You like CSI/FBI/SVU and those kinds of shows / you like series / you love a good female lead.

I just finished Open Book by Jessica Simpson and it. was. AMAZING! Not even a huge fan over here and I LOVED it!
I keep hearing how good it is! I’ve gotta read it!
I will be skipping The Return, thank you. Loved How to Walk Away!
Unless you want think every noise you hear is a demon for the foreseeable future, highly recommend skipping. Ha!
I liked how to walk away. I just read Untamed and got all the feels. Next up is Jessica Simpson.
I’m reading Untamed now and have ALLLL the feels.
Okay The Return sounds like the book “Little Darlings” that I tried to read and just could absolutely not get through. Someone I knew read it “for” me, so I could know the ending (I couldn’t find it online ANYWHERE!) and it was all just so weird. I was happy I didn’t push through. It gave me nightmares for 3 days! Which was your favorite book on this list? Also – thank you for the trigger warning on “You Are Not Alone”!!
WHAT A GOOD FRIEND! Yeah, I’m still pretty positive that there are demons chilling in my closet after reading this one. No thank you, bye.
Thanks for this! I always love getting your book recommendations!
