Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
OCTOBER IS HERE! I’m so happy!
Yesterday ushered us into the coziest, happiest three months of the whole wide year. So just a little note to say please please please don’t let these next few months rush past you in a wave of overwhelm. They tend to be the busiest months of the year for a lot of people, but they’re also the most magical.
Make time for the things you love about this time of year. Actually go to a pumpkin patch instead of just making a mental note that you’d love to do that while driving past it on your way home from work. Check the thriller out from the library and actually read it. Drink all the pumpkin things. Watch a scary movie. Whatever it is that you think of when you think of October, make an effort to fill your October with those things.
These three months are my favorite. We’re at the starting line of the happiest part of my year. And I want to celebrate that every day.
The biggest way I’m going to do that: Remember that every day doesn’t have to be elaborate to be enjoyed. These months are full of elaborate things and I LOVE that, but I also know that I’m setting myself up for disappointment if I wait to enjoy anything until the elaborate days. Because real life usually isn’t elaborate on a day to day basis.
Drinking a mug of pumpkin spice coffee isn’t as elaborate as a trip to the pumpkin patch, but it’s a piece of fall worth enjoying. Cleaning my house while listening to Autumn in New York isn’t as fun as going to a Halloween party, but it’s a little slice of fall nonetheless. See where I’m going with this? Let’s do our best to enjoy every day, elaborate or not.
What’s your favorite part of fall?

It is the best time of year! Spices, boots, football and fall.
All of my favorite things!!
UM, when it cools off! 🙂 Football! No really, still summer over here, but my sweaters and booties are gettin’ ready for their debut!
same girl, same!
Fall is the best! My favorite part is the cooler weather and having an excuse to snuggle up under a blanket and turn the fireplace on. Date nights at home are my favorite this time of year.
I am with you on the season of overwhelm, though, too. Because I always say fall doesn’t last long enough. It seems to fly by even though it’s the same length as all of the other seasons.

LOVE at home date nights in the fall!! And I’m with you – it totally flies by.
Must remember this! Savor the little moments because before we know it? January. Ha!
ABSOLUTELY right you are!
September was the biggest sh*t show for me ever. I really hope fall/October/winter/this last quarter is magical. I’m trying to get over my mental hurdles to start enjoying it fully.
I’m so sorry, friend. hoping October brings some heart-healing magic for you.
The absolute best time of year! Ive got my fall candles burning, drinking all the pumpkin spice coffee and now I need the weather to cooperate with me and not be 100 degrees outside, ha!
haha right there with you! I have a feeling we’re gonna be waiting for awhile
It is truly the most magical time of year and it always flies by! Thanks for the reminder to slow down.
