Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
April showers bring May flowers…but I hope they bring me some consistent summer weather. This hot-cold-hot-rainy business is taking my allergies on a rollercoaster I would very much like to get off of.
I just dropped Jack off at school and poured a mug of honey blueberry coffee (from Target – highly recommend!) and am under the covers, drinking a mug of it, listening to the rain fall outside and it felt like the perfect time to crank out a live-blog, which is basically just a collection of random things that pop into my head while typing. Highly recommend.
I’ll be honest and tell you I was very nervous about Jack’s spring break (the kid is in a NEEDS CONSTANT ENTERTAINMENT stage), but it was wonderful. We got to spend time with my parents and my mom came and hung out for a few days, which was so much fun.
My best friend’s baby is getting ready to enter the world as I type this and I could absolutely explode with love. It’s comforting to me that in a time where everything is so different (Like, it’s breaking my heart that I can’t go hug her in the hospital), life just continues. Brand new life.
I’m on a big audiobook kick right now. I’ve been decluttering my house and doing loads and loads of laundry (Spring cleaning, I guess?), and audiobooks make it more bearable. I’m listening to one right now that has me hooked, and it makes me look forward to mundane things because it means I get to listen to more of this thriller.
Yesterday it made me emotional to realize what last Easter looked like in lockdown. On one hand, it makes me sad because I was sure this would all be over a year later, but on the other hand, it finally feels like there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and that makes me happy.
I hope you had a beautiful Easter and have an equally as beautiful Monday.
xo, Chels

Omg did she have the baby?!
It’s the most magical, special feeling when your best friend has a baby! And you get to soak in all the snuggles without the sleepless nights and buy all the cute clothes without having to do the laundry. 🙂 Or maybe you do spend the night and handle nighttime duty or their laundry for a few days. Regardless, it’s the most fun!
Glad you all survived spring break! M is 16 months and already the busiest little human. Lord help me…
It is so odd to me that no one has gone to the hospital to see any newly born babies in a year. And part of me is happy because some people are not considerate of new parents so some people are relieved they got a few days to recover and part of me is sad because some people probably really looked forward to that.
But I do think there is light at the end of the tunnel as well!
We had an outdoor Easter gathering Sunday and it was the first time most of us had seen my cousin’s baby (who was born in November). She was definitely overwhelmed seeing so many faces! Makes me sad for all of the simple things we have missed out on in a year.
How amazing that your best friend is having a baby! I can’t wait until one of my best friends has one as well.
I’m glad you survived Spring break! Ours is next week, I’m a teacher so I feel I’m in the opposite boat where I can’t wait for the break haha.
