Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Whew, the first Monday of a new year always hits hard. It’s now Tuesday but whatever, same sentiment. I am on my third (fourth? fifth? I don’t wanna talk about it) cup of coffee of the day and just coming up from my inbox for air. It’s scary in there. Jack’s a little under the weather, so he’s napping on the couch next time me – these are moments I am super grateful to be able to work from home.
This is the first year that instead of goals and resolutions, I’m focusing on how I want to feel. Of course, there are things I’ll do to help get me to those feelings, but focusing on a generalized feeling rather than a bunch of step by step goals felt better this year. This was a big part of how I journaled for the second half of 2021, so it felt right.
I got so many cozy gifts for Christmas. House shoes, pajamas, a new robe, loungewear…it makes me happy that the people in my life know me so well. It also makes me laugh because I bought my first ever “loungewear” outfit at the start of the first covid shutdown, and I remember wondering if it would be worth it, since we were only going to be at home for two weeks. HAHAHA.
A new year means I start a new journal. Few things make me so happy. I got this one – Emily McDowell can do no wrong with her journals. They are so happy and fun and I love them. Also super good quality!
I finished my first book of 2022 this morning and wow was it a good one. It was called Never Saw Me Coming and I indeed saw none of it coming. Book reviews are coming back to this space in 2022, so I’ll be back to chat about it soon.
It’s Jack’s birthday month, and on January 1st, in lieu of saying happy new year, he said “Happy January. It’s my birthday month. Know what that means? I’m the king now.” And simply walked away. More of that energy for myself, please.
I hope you had a very safe and happy New Year’s Day and that you are putting absolutely zero pressure on yourself to change all the things in 2022. You’re doing great already! Love you!

Lol. Jack’s energy is infectious. I love the things that kid says! I hope he’s feeling better soon! I’m definitely looking to make some changes in 2022- mostly to my outlook and mental health.
We all love Jack! Happy New Year!!!
