A love letter of gratitude to this season of life.

You are full, but one of the first seasons in awhile that hasn’t felt “busy” – that’s something I want to hold on to. 

You’ve pushed me to find joy in the little things. Things I’ve maybe taken for granted have become sacred. Morning coffee chugged to stay awake is now enjoyed slowly with my favorite candle burning. Sunsets are something of a religious experience, not just something to glance at as I’m rushing somewhere.

You’ve pushed me to go deeper in nearly every area of my life. In my faith, in my relationships, in caring for myself. Many areas have kind of halted at a “go big or go home” fork in the road. While that caused me to let several things go, it caused me to go deeper into the good things that remained. 

A few things I’ll always remember from you: 

How curious and full of life Jack is. His rave reviews from his teachers not just about how smart he is, but about how KIND he is. 

How much I value my friendships. How they daily go from being a lifeline to being my love language to being my favorite things in life. How friendships in this season sometimes mean seeing each other every week and sometimes mean texts and memes and tiktoks just to let you know I’m thinking of you, even though our schedules are opposite. 

How much of a gift it is to have friends that love my kid. No one tells you about that part of becoming a parent. It’s very, very cool. 

You’re teaching me a lot. Like anything, you’re not all good. But you’re not all bad. 

You’re a space for me to just be me for a little while.

No big goals. No rushing. No demanding. Just ebb and flow and grow. And for that, I feel immense gratitude.
