Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Remember when I wrote March’s bright spots post, and said it was such a weird time to be looking for bright spots since we’d just spent half the month quarantined? Well, A WHOLE MONTH LATER…what a weird time. And also, what a perfect time to force myself to find bright spots. I need them.
I’ve read more books than ever before. // Reading brings me joy. Relaxes me. Fills my cup. All the good things, and I still wasn’t making as much time for it as I should, probably because you can’t read and multitask. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY READING IS SO GOOD FOR ME.
Jack is talking SO WELL. // He misses school and his friends so much, but the bright side of him only being around adults is that he’s been talking in full sentences, saying grown up things that sound SO cute coming out of his mouth. His newest thing is to say, “Is that correct?” After he tells you something, and I melt.
My birthday. // I turned 28 in quarantine, and it was the best day.
Daily walks. // Sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes in pajamas (okay, a lot of times in pajamas), sometimes with coffee. Walking around the neighborhood has saved my sanity lately.
Pajamas. // For all the times I’ve asked myself, “Do I really need all these pajamas?” The answer was ABSOLUTELY YES I DO.
Slippers. // I bought these slippers on amazon and have worn them every. single. day. They’re amazing. Also they have a hard bottom, so I can also wear them on my walks.
Coffee. // The month of April was full of more coffee than..well, ever. Cozy cups of coffee in the morning, front porch coffee, all the coffee. It is comforting and also necessary.
New skincare. // I decided to use the time at home to overhaul my skincare and try out The Ordinary. I’ve been OBSESSED with the results. I’ll do a full post on that next week.
Rainbow nails. // It has brought me so much joy to look down and see all my favorite colors at once. It’s the little things.
Ice roller. // Stress makes my face puffy. This makes my face not puffy. And it feels amazing. It’s been a big April favorite.
Aquaphor as eye cream. // I saw someone on facebook suggest this, and it sounds weird, but quarantine has me bored enough to try weird things, so to amazon prime we went. HOLY MOLY. This giant $10 tube which will last me approximately two lifetimes is better than any of the billions of dollars of eye creams I’ve tried before. Winner winner.

Those slippers are so cute. I am all about ice rollers and anything else to de-puff. I buy that Aquaphor for Zoe. It is the only thing that worked on her eczema and other problem skin spots. I like to use it too for any issues or dry spots that pop up on me. I have been known to slather it under my eyes too. That whole area is wrecked on me most of the time. Maybe I need to try it more regularly under eyes. I usually wait until it is peeling before I try.
Right there with you and reading more than ever! It’s actually been really nice!
I am having a harder time reading, but I did just finish Attachments today and it was great so maybe I need to stick with light hearted happy (and a little sappy) stories.
Your blog is always such a joy to read! Plus it gives me ideas what to try out:)
In April I’ve discovered primroses…a friend told they’re perennials and low maintenance, so now I need to buy some for my garden.
I also discovered Anchor Bay Life products..basically cute, striped, turquoise hoodies and lake/sea themed clothing.
I’ve also been enjoy ALLLLLLL the books and almost daily walks with my husband. It’s important to find the little things to appreciate right now.
