What I'm Learning
Hi, I'm Chelsea! I’m on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Good morning! I am finally emerging from a week of the flu and WOW was that rough. I didn’t get around to posting any sort of end of the year (or decade!) recap, or any sort of New Year’s post, because I was too busy trying to survive influenza. Not to be dramatic, but I’m pretty sure 2019 was giving it one last shot at trying to kill me.
2020!! Never have I ever been so excited for a new year. I’m equally thrilled to be putting last year behind me and to be starting a new decade, one that I KNOW is going to be full of good things.
There’s something so encouraging about staring down a brand new year, no matter how good or bad your last year was. I have felt such a sense of anticipation thinking about 2020, because it signals a fresh start. This year will be good and it will be bad, because that’s what life it. But it’s a stretch of fresh, new days that haven’t happened yet, and those days hold so much potential.
I’ve set the biggest goals I’ve ever set this year. The things I’ve written down, quite frankly, scare the crap out of me. But when I think about a world where I’ve achieved them, I’m overwhelmed with feeling alive and happy.
That’s what I think we should aim for when we set goals. Whatever area of your life they’re for, if you image a life where you’ve achieved them, you should be imagining a happy and fully living YOU. Not a skinnier you. Not a richer you. A happier, more alive version of the you that you already are.
Happy 2020, friends (just a fewwww days late). I have a good feeling about this one.
