  1. The world is becoming a very scary place and I hate that it's true. I don't want anyone to grow up in this environment or be scared to live. We need to unite and learn to love one another no matter our differences.

  2. Such a tragedy. So many lives lost and so much hurt and fear exists now, even more. You have such a way with words – your post embodies what many are feeling but may not have a way to express them so eloquently.

  3. So good! Great words about this horrific event…<3

The greatest of all is LOVE and we all need to love more.

I honestly can't tell you much I love the eloquence and truth of this post! You've managed to sum up all my feelings about this tragedy in one post! Orlando was such a tragedy and my heartbreaks for everyone directly and indirectly involved. Your call to action at the end makes my heart sing! You are such a talented writer and if you ever have writes block, come back to this post. It's beautiful.

  6. <3 I was thinking about you yesterday. Sending you & your amazing city so much love and lots and lots of prayers for comfort & hope.

  7. I cried thinking about all the loved ones who lost someone close to them yesterday, and about the lives senselessly cut short. I have struggled to find the light in this dark time too.

  8. Gina Salberg says:

This is beautiful…. agree. So scary for everyone, especially when it's so close to home for you. "but the greatest of these is love." Yes. xoxox

  9. Yelle T says:

You have so much more to say about the situation than I. I was at such a loss for words. I love how you ended it though. It is so important to continue loving.

  10. I tried and tried again to put into words how I was feeling after this weekends events, but I couldn't. Not in the way that you have just now. This is an important and beautiful post. Sending love all around <3

  11. <3 beautifully said.

    this is absolutely spot on.
no matter what people want to believe or wrap it up in – 50 people died.
people, humans with loved ones and souls and joy – and it was taken away from them in an instant because one person took their needs above another. it's so incredibly heart breaking.

  13. Such a nicely written post – I can't even imagine what the friends and family members are going through right now – just terrible.

  14. I was thinking of you and everyone I know who lives in/loves Orlando yesterday. It's devastating when these things happen and even worse when they happen in the city you love. You are so right, life is short. <3

This must hit you so hard since you just lived there. I agree that at times the cheesy quotes can seem lame but they comfort me too. I shared Revelation 21:4 today (He will wipe every tear from their eyes…) because it was the first thing that came to mind. I believe there is power in what we share in these dark times.

I lived in Boston when the marathon bombings happened and it was just insane that something like this didn't just happen "somewhere else." It was happening in my town and I almost went to the marathon finish line that day. It's so real and scary and you're right that all the things we are doing or rather not doing don't help. It's so frustrating. I wish we could come up with a solution and that Americans weren't so radical about our "rights" right now but cared more about human life.

  16. So beautifully put, I can't even put into words how the past few days have felt. I've been sad, scared, angry, confused, etc… and will never understand how anyone can have so much hate towards people they've never met due to the color of their skin, their religion, their sexuality, or the country they happen to live in. Sending love and *hugs* <3

Your post is my favorite on this topic. You always have a great way with words šŸ™‚

  22. I also get really annoyed with cheesy quotes filled with hope but in this instance it all felt so sad…it called for a response. Everything you've stated here was so genuine and meaningful, I feel for the families of the victims and I am doing my best to show love and light!

  23. Such a sad tragedy to happen to anywhere, anybody. We are continuing prayers for everybody and our nation.

  24. Crystal says:

I never say anything when these things happen because I don't know what to say, but what you said is perfect.
