Hi, I'm Chelsea! Iām on a mission to help you find joy and goodness in every day.
On this blog we talk about the big things (like chasing dreams) and the small things (like what books we're reading) because happiness comes in all sizes.
Feeling the urge to run into the other room whenever you hear a Sara McLachlan song.
Feeling so bad about leaving your dog at home that you actually consider canceling your plans.
Telling someone that out loud, then realizing that you are crazy and are probably going to die alone.
Not canceling your plans in the spirit of trying to not die alone, and then wondering if your dog is okay. Are they just sitting there, waiting for you to come home? What do they even do without you?
Did you turn the oven off?
Feeling bad about not saving a bite for your pup.
Thinking you did something wrong when they don’t want to snuggle.
Putting off vacuuming for much longer than you should because you’re pretty sure that kills a little bit of your dog’s soul.
Thinking on more than one occasion how much easier life would be if you could just text your dog and ask if the oven is off or if you need to come back home.
Trying to figure out creative ways and excuses to bring your dog everywhere with you.
Thinking you probably really need to get another dog, so your current dog won’t be lonely.
…But really, did you turn the oven off?

Some of the pups in those look like your dog! So cute!
hahaha! they definitely need to come up with a way to text your dog!!! that is genius!
and then… a way to teach your dog to cook dinner because that oven is probably still on!
hahah! so cute! Maggie gets so anxious when we leave her alone that I make the extra trip to drop her off at Grandma's whenever we go out for more than a hour. Adds loads of time onto our day but calms MY anxiety. I have this irrational fear that the house will catch on fire when she's home alone. Crazy.
haha!! This is the best thing ever. I hate leaving Lucy home alone….she gives me such sad eyes and gets super needy/snuggly whenever she knows I'm getting ready to go!
So true! I've been trying to convince Chris to get another dog so Sky wouldn't be lonely so many times. One of these days I will get him with a cute photo from Petfinder. š
haha this is SO true!! I hate leaving my pups home alone!
Haha I can totally relate to this. I do like a triple check when I leave to make sure everything is turned off and even then I worry about it while I'm out. And when I do go out I always think about her and talk about her way too much, so people will probably just stop inviting me out ha! Let's not forgot going away for like a week. A trip to Mexico should be exciting, but I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get a daily facebook update of my dog. Yep, we're crazy!
This is hilarious. I feel this way about my kitten. At least you have the option of bringing your dog places with you. If I try and put a leash on my cat or push him around in a stroller suddenly I am crazy. Haha! I would never but I do hate to be away from him.
I could scroll through this post a thousand times and not get tired of it. Dog gifs, man. I'm a sucker for them.
I legitimately feel bad when I'm not home enough on weekends. I like to schedule a dog day!
These are so true! Especially about being worried about leaving your dog at home, and then telling people you feel guilty about it, and then worrying about them all alone. We are thinking about getting another dog to keep him company too, but I'm a little worried that will just double my worrying!
Hahaha yes! Love this! I pretty much take my dog everywhere until the temperatures start rising and then I miss her like crazy.
I'm definitely one of those people who wishes they could text their dog. Loving all these doggy pictures!
I have the oven paranoia all the time and it has nothing to do with the fact that once the oven was left on.
I take my dogs with me everywhere I possibly can. They're my ID card at some places.
This is so true!!! I am constantly checking the oven and the straightener before I leave….at least 3-5 times each!!! I often wonder what they are doing all day when we aren't home. And I totally got Mac for Gracie….I hated that she was alone so much when we work and do things.
I totally get all of this!
This made me laugh so hard! My husband and I have a 2 year old German Shepard and he's literally our baby. He's actually laying in the corner of my office watching me work right now. Daddy is at work so he's a bit sad. I'll probably fill him up with treats all day to make him feel better haha
I love these! And I am so guilty of most of them lol… we're happy the family dinner we have this weekend is at my mom's house because it means we can bring Milo… we need help.
Every.single.one.of.these. And that last gif? Freaking hilarious! I could watch it all day.
LOVE this!!! And I have to confess, I have thoughts similar to these at times. š
I've recently adopted dog that has severe separation anxiety, so I've gotten ridiculously creative with excuses to bring her with me everywhere. Someone wants to go for lunch? Let's have a picnic in the park! Someone invites us over for dinner? Why not come to our place! She is only ten months old and has been re-homed a few times, so I know that she will eventually be okay. I feel so bad leaving her, because she just panics and is a shaking ball of nerves when we get home.
Hahaha, love this!! I'm actually allergic to the dander in animals fur which is so upsetting because I love dogs so, SO MUCH š But once I get married this summer we are considering getting a hypoallergenic dog which we are super excited about. This post cracked me up! Love it! & I absolutely love all of your comments on my posts, they always brighten my day!! I love reading your blog, Chelsea š

When you are going into another room (or leaving the apartment) and Your dog follows you like he/she gets to go and you have to shut the door in their face while they give you that "hey you're forgetting me" look. It breaks my heart!!!
yes, yes, yes, and yes to all of this. you so get me. and my dog. xo
The Shibas! We have one and she is such a judgemental little dog! I had a fire alarm system installed so the dog would be OK if there was a fire…
I love this! It's all so true… especially the oven. There are times when I obsess about whether or not I turned the oven or stove off. Or something else. I have to keep my little fur-child safe!
I'm definitely guilty of not going out because I want to stay in and snuggle with the dogs. It's hard when they're so cute!
This is hilarious! I can't count how many times I've said I wish Pixie has a cell phone, normally so I can let her know we're on our way home because I feel bad she's been alone all day. LOL
annnnnd this. is why i love you.
HAHA I love this! I have such crazy dog-fever right now, it's ridiculous.
Most people know me for leaving their company earlier or having to head home to check on the dogs because I'm constantly worrying about them. I know they can get by without my hubby and I home for a bit, but I also don't like to leave them any more than what we already do, with going to work and coming home 11 hours later. My time is precious and they don't live forever…. So you make the most of the time you have together.
Ugh I can't hold it together when that Sarah McLachlan song comes on. I just can't do it. š
This is spot on! I always feel so bad for leaving frank every single day and I wish I could just text him and talk to him all day long! I love that smiling dog too, so cute!
haha the gifs are spot on. That Sara McLachlan song and commercal – the absolute worst!
haha
mine is always – did I turn off my flat iron? what about the heating blanket? Did I turn it all off? Oh I know I did!
BUT…lol
I have often thought life would be so much easier if I could text my dogs. Like when they are sick. I need to be able to text them and ask them if they are feeling better! So much easier than having to run home at lunch only to find them pouncing around totally fine.
So many Shiba GIFs – love it! And I've had a lot of these same thoughts…
Yup! I feel all of these all the time. And I may have just gotten a second dog to help ease the "my dog is lonely" feeling, but I'm guessing I'll now just miss them twice as much when I have to go anywhere!
